Pickleball in Pomona, California

Pomona has two useful pickleball hubs with different strengths. Palomares Park is the City's public outdoor center and hosts City programming and tournaments. West Coast Pickleball Pomona at 2721 S. Towne Avenue provides organized open play, court reservations, memberships, lessons, clinics, leagues, and tournaments. If you are arriving alone and want a scheduled game, West Coast Pickleball is the more predictable starting point.

Where to Play Pickleball in Pomona

  • Palomares Park, 499 E. Arrow Highway. This is Pomona's main municipal pickleball location and has 16 outdoor pickleball courts. The City uses the courts for recreation programming and special events, including the Paddles for Palomares tournament. A permanent City-run adult open-play timetable is not published, so treat Palomares as a public court destination rather than assuming a staffed drop-in session will be underway. The Community Services rental office is also located at Palomares Park and can be reached at (909) 620-2321 for current facility information. Check City of Pomona recreation facility information.
  • West Coast Pickleball Pomona, 2721 S. Towne Ave. West Coast Pickleball's Pomona facility provides dedicated club play with open-play sessions, court reservations, memberships, paddle rentals, lessons, clinics, drills, leagues, tournaments, and other programs. Open play is organized by skill level, and the company states that players can attend open play without bringing a partner. Pricing and session times vary by program and membership level, so use the live booking system rather than relying on an older weekly schedule. Check West Coast Pickleball Pomona programs and reservations.

New to Pickleball?

West Coast Pickleball is the clearest adult beginner path in Pomona. Its program structure includes beginner open play, lessons, drills, and clinics, giving a new player a way to learn and then move into games at the same facility. Basic members currently receive access to paid open-play sessions, with higher membership levels including or discounting selected morning, daytime, and beginner open play. Check current beginner programs and coaching.

The City of Pomona also has an active pickleball program at Palomares Park for ages 7 to 12. The current fall 2026 session runs Mondays and Wednesdays and teaches serving, rallying, scoring, court positioning, and game play. This particular program is funded through Pomona Unified School District and is limited to eligible district students, so it should not be treated as a general adult beginner class. Search current City of Pomona recreation programs.

Adults who prefer individual instruction can check West Coast Pickleball's current professionals and lesson offerings or use this site's Coaches section.

Open Play, Leagues, and Pickleball Events

West Coast Pickleball provides the most consistent organized-play structure in Pomona. The club offers skill-separated open play and is developing or operating leagues, tournaments, drills, clinics, lessons, and game-play programs. Session times and availability are maintained through its booking system, so check the live Pomona program calendar before going.

Palomares Park also hosts larger community pickleball events. In March 2026, the City held the two-day Paddles for Palomares Pickleball Tournament there, confirming that the public complex is used for organized competition as well as everyday court play. Check the City of Pomona calendar for future City-sponsored pickleball events rather than relying on a past tournament date.

Visiting Pomona and Looking for a Game?

If you are traveling alone, check West Coast Pickleball Pomona first. Its open-play format does not require you to bring a partner, and players are separated by skill level for games. Create an account, check the day's session, and confirm the applicable open-play fee before traveling. The facility can also be reached by text at (909) 237-8442.

If you already have people to play with and prefer public outdoor courts, head to Palomares Park. With 16 courts in one location, it is Pomona's main public pickleball complex. Check the City calendar for tournaments or recreation programs that could affect court use, and contact Community Services when court availability is important to your plans.
